Bayer G4A is a global program formerly known as Grants4Apps. These days, the “A” in G4A stands for much more — acceleration, advancement, AI, and everything else that’s advancing the current state of digital health. Officially, G4A is a global program within Bayer that “supports startups and companies that are developing innovative solutions in health and care.” In other words, Bayer is tapping into the entrepreneurial ecosystem to facilitate progress — both within its own ranks, and within the healthcare and wellness industries as a whole.
SXSW is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of the interactive, film, and music industries. While the the conference was founded in 1987, it wasn’t until 2015 that an official “Health” track was added to the agenda – first as a separate event and now as a fully-incorporated track during the Interactive festival.
Today begins the third and final stage of our launch efforts to bring .health to the world. We started on May 8, 2017 by giving validated trademark holders the first right to register their domains. Next, on July 20, we gave exclusive access to verified members of the health industry. Now, on December 5th, we expand our distribution to 50+ registrar partners.
If we had to sum up this year’s Connected Health Conference in three words, it would be “health system innovation.” What an amazing showcase of hospital innovation groups and their work to advance health through technology. We heard form groups like Johns Hopkins, Mt. Sinai in NYC, Healthbox/Intermountain Healthcare, and of course, Partners Healthcare.
Immersive.health is a blog that educates readers about how VR technology is positively impacting patients and healthcare providers across the world. The Immersive.health blog is powered by appliedVR, the first VR platform designed for healthcare which is being used in more than 100 hospitals throughout the US.

Sugar Link connects diabetes patients, their caregivers, and their loved ones to information about diabetes, glucose monitoring, and the latest innovations in diabetic care. Through SugarLink.health, not only can individuals connect with information via articles, videos, and applications, but they can connect with other people with diabetes via the Sugar Link Community Board.
Caremap, developed by Boston Children’s Hospital’s Innovation & Digital Health Accelerator (IDHA) in collaboration with Duke Health System, is an app that enables family caregivers to securely store vital medical information and share it with health professionals as part of their care or in an emergency.
